Susan Lewis M.Ed.
Founder, ECEPD
Hi, I’m Susan—and I’ve been where you are.
I’ve been a classroom teacher, a program leader, and a coach supporting educators across early childhood settings.
Over the years, I’ve experienced the frustrations that so many of us share: sitting through PD that felt disconnected, overwhelming, or just not helpful. I’ve also seen the magic that happens when professional development is done differently—when it speaks to the real work, honors the wisdom educators already hold, and creates space for growth without judgment.
One of the most pivotal moments in my career wasn’t as a participant—but as a staff member sitting in the back of a training session. The facilitator was the first person I’d ever heard speak openly about the emotional weight of this work—the trauma, the challenges, the truth that educators are whole people too. It was like breathing fresh air for the first time. That moment changed how I think about PD forever.
Since then, I’ve made it my mission to create learning spaces that are honest, human, and deeply supportive. I don’t believe in “checking the box” when it comes to professional development. I believe in showing up with curiosity, challenging what’s not working, and helping educators feel more confident and connected in what they do every day.
ECEPD is the result of everything I’ve learned—and everything I wish I’d had.
It’s not just a business. It’s my way of giving back to the field that shaped me.
If you’re looking for support that feels real, you’re in the right place.
